Grangewood Methodist Church, Nottingham
We're almost 50! In May 1967, Grangewood Methodist Church was formally opened, and so this May, we shall be celebrating our 50th Anniversary. I'm writing now to let you know how we'll be marking this event in a variety of ways:
On Monday 1st May, there'll be a joint Craft Day for all the "crafty people" (young and old) in our church community. Click here for details
On the Saturday of the Anniversary Weekend, 20th May, there will be an Afternoon Tea. Tickets (free) will be available from 2nd April, and in view of the likely numbers involved, admission will have to be by ticket only. Contact Tony Richmond tel. 0115 928732 or email him on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Later that day, at 6.30, there will be a folk dance led by a live band, Freds Folks Ceilidh Band (http://www.chezfred.org.uk/freds/) Tickets, at £6.00, including light refreshments (children free)are also available from Tony Richmond - on a strict "payment with order" basis.
The preacher at our Anniversary service, at 10.00 am on Sunday 21st May, will be the Revd Helen Cameron, who is currently Assistant Secretary of the Methodist Conference and has been designated as the Chair of the Northampton District from September 2017.
On 7th May, Deacon Lisa Rathbone will preach at the 10.00 a.m. service and be involved in the Messy Church at 3 o'clock. Everyone is welcome to join Messy Church on this day.
I do hope that, like me, you are looking forward to celebrating this milestone in the life of our Church. Please book the dates now in readiness for the tickets when they're available.
With every good wish,
